Asian Beef with Onions

Ingredients
- Beef : 560 grams
- Rice : 300 grams
- Onion : 3
- Lime : 1
- Fresh ginger : 10 grams
- Cilantro : 1 pinch
- Sesame seeds : 1 pinch
- Corn starch : 1 teaspoon
- Caster sugar : 1 tablespoon
- Nuoc-mâm sauce : 6 tablespoons
- Peanut oil : 5 tablespoons
- Soy sauce : 8 tablespoons
- Water : 12 centiliters
Preparation steps

Pour rice into a pot of boiling water.
Cook for approx. 11 minutes (refer to recommendations on rice packet).
Set aside. -
Cut beef into half-centimeter-thick strips.
Peel and finely slice the ginger.
Place the beef and ginger in a dish and pour over 4 tablespoons of soy sauce.
Mix well, wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. -
Mince onions.
Set aside for later use. -
Heat the peanut oil in a wok or frying pan over high heat, then brown the beef in the marinade for 2-3 minutes.
Set aside for later use. -
In the wok used for the beef, sauté the onions for 3 minutes, stirring regularly.

Pour in nuoc-mâm sauce, remaining 4 tablespoons soy sauce, sugar, lime juice and 12 centilitres water.
Add beef, cornstarch and stir.
Reheat for two or three minutes, until the juice thickens. -
Serve in soup plates, sprinkled with sesame seeds and chopped coriander.
Serve each plate with a bowl of rice.
